Tour Jolly Summer – Catania/Catania
The best of Sicily in a week. Starting from Catania, we travel northward, visiting the impressive Mount Etna and Taormina, “the pearl the the Ionian sea”. Then, we head westward, to the Roman Villa and the Valley of Temples, two of the Sicilian UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Through the Selinunte temples and the medieval town of Erice we arrive in Palermo, to delight us with its stunning views, visit wonderful monuments including Monreale Dome and Cloister and enjoy free time for shopping. We continue eastward, visiting the seaside town of Cefalù and coming back to Catania before departure.

Tuesday | Catania - Mount Etna - Taormina - Catania
After a buffet breakfast, weather conditions permitting, excursion to Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Across fascinating landscape, we will reach a height of 1900 metres to visit the Sylvester Craters where you can enjoy a spectacular panorama over the Ionian Sea. Lunch in a local restaurant on Mt. Etna. Continue to Taormina, charming city called "the pearl of the Ionian Sea", founded in 400 BC and beautifully located overlooking the sea and the peak of Mount Etna. Enjoy time at leisure to shop for handmade lace, coral jewels, ceramics, home-made sweets and preserves down “Corso Umberto” or simply walk through its tiny streets. Individual visit of the fascinating Greek-Roman theatre. Back to your Hotel in Catania: dinner and overnight.
Wednesday | Catania - Piazza Armerina - Agrigento
After a buffet breakfast, depart to Piazza Armerina in the inland of Sicily, to visit the worldwide known Villa Romana del Casale: it is the richest, largest and most complex collection of late Roman mosaics in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit of the magnificent Valley of the Temples of Agrigento, including the Temple of Concord, which is in almost perfectly preserved conditions, Juno and Heracles that represent the most beautiful example of the Greek Civilization in Sicily. Dinner and overnight at Hotel DIOSCURI BAY PALACE.
Thursday | Agrigento - Selinunte - Erice - Palermo
After a buffet breakfast, depart to the Archaeological park of Selinunte, the largest in the Mediterranean area with the impressive Temples and Acropolis. Stop in a local farmhouse famous for olive oil production where, before lunch, it will be possible to have an oil tasting of local production. Continue to Erice, a medieval town full of myth, history and art on the summit of Monte San Giuliano: walk through its winding lanes, inner courtyards and cobbled streets. Proceed to Palermo. Accommodation, dinner and overnight at Hotel MERCURE PALERMO EXCELSIOR, prestigious historical Hotel located in one of the city centre’ s main streets.
Friday | (Mount Pellegrino - Capo Market optional) Palermo - Monreale - Palermo
After a buffet breakfast, morning at leisure or optional excursion to Monte Pellegrino, the most famous mountain in Palermo, to arrive at the shrine of Santa Rosalia, the patron saint of the city; from the viewpoint enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the Conca d'Oro. End the afternoon with a walk to the discover of one of the most colorful historical markets of Palermo: "The Capo Market” immersed in an explosion of vegetables, and fruits(supplement on the spot; the excursion will take place with a minimum of participants). Back to your Hotel for lunch. In the early afternoon, depart to Monreale to admire the Cathedral with its splendid 12th century mosaics representing a complete cycle of the Old and New Testaments, and the Cloister of the Benedictines Abbey with its Moorish architecture. Continue with the visit of the Capital of Sicily, Palermo, one of the richest towns in the island for history and art: the Cathedral, the Palace of the Normans and its superb “Palatina" Chapel; enjoy a panoramic tour of the historical centre (the "Quattro Canti", the Opera House, the Pretoria Square). After a buffet breakfast, morning at leisure or possibility to join a City Sightseeing and, thanks to its flexible hop-on hop-off system, you can see the most important places of Palermo (the historic city centre, the Liberty area of the City, the most important villas and the Zisa Castle) - included in the price. Lunch in your Hotel. Afternoon at leisure for shopping or individual visits. Dinner and overnight in your Hotel in Palermo.
Sunday | Palermo - Cefalù - Catania
After a buffet breakfast, depart to Cefalù, charming coastal town, a former fishing village which is also home to a breathtaking Norman Cathedral, famous for its Mosaic of Christ Pantocractor – a stunning Byzantine mosaic that’s considered as one of the most important pieces of religious artwork in Sicily. Take a stroll to the city centre and down main street to reach the Cathedral and the medieval wash-house built in the rock. Time at leisure to relax at a cafe of your choice for lunch ON YOUR OWN. Proceed to Catania, the town known for its original baroque style and for its streets built with black lava stone from mount Etna. Walking tour through Via Etnea, the Baroque street "Via Crociferi", the Piazza Duomo with the Cathedral and the "Liotru" statue, symbol of the city, the roman Amphitheatre.
